Thursday June 1 – We deserve this dry start to the month and will get it. May has ended with 5.64″ of rain in Baltimore. That is 1.65″ above an average May. This is not a record, but 22 days with rain made it seem like one. Especially the last nine days of the month being wet. Something else happened last month for the first time in a full year. The average monthly temperature (low and high combined) was 62.3ºF was 0.6ºF below average. This was the first month cooler than average since last May 2016 that was cooler than average. Considering we had three days in the 90s, including the record of 93ºF on the 17th, that is impressive.
Now we set our sights on new month and the start of meteorological summer. Temperatures will be close to 80ºF. A refreshing breeze will keep us dry along with plenty of sun today. The outlook this weekend is better as well, but Sunday and Monday will show the return of showers and storms. Overall, this is better than what we have had.

The next front will seem to fade to our north. The risk of rain is lower, and would be overnight Friday. So the expected rain will be focused on the Low Pressure Sunday and Monday
