Friday February 3 – I have two little nuggets of good new for winter lovers this morning. First, we are in a cold pattern and there is plenty of cold air.  Yes, we will have a very warm day or two next week, but it will be followed by another cool down.  The other thing is that there is no snow event in sight. I know that sounds counterintuitive, but when we see a potential storm a week or so away, it has not verified… like this weekend. So NOT seeing something might be what we need. Because otherwise, this will be a waste of cold air.

That’s all I got for now.  The straight up reality is that any potential ‘snow’ on Super Bowl Sunday is gone…. Just needed to repeat that if you missed yesterday’s forecast. That does help for party planning and traveling.  There could be flurries in PA, but the elements needed to develop that storm just could not sync up.  The next round will, but not for us. A large storm will cross the nation next week and like much of this winter has been, this will pass to our north/west allowing warm air and rain to pump into the Mid Atlantic. Perhaps once again some thunder. Here’s a quick look at the storm track
