Wednesday Jan 11 – Roads are icy this morning north and west of Baltimore. The air temperatures even into southern Pennsylvania are well above freezing, but the ground is still frozen. The result of rain last night is a covering of ice. School Delays this morning include: Baltimore’s Hereford Zone and Carroll County in northern Maryland. Plus many districts in  Adams, York, and Lancaster Counties PA. *On the Eastern Shore Wicomico and Worcester have delays from their weekend snow.

I need to apologize as I posted last night that the advisory was lifted just before 10 PM. I did not elaborate the area and may have led some of you to believe all was thawing. That was obviously not the case. This WAS the alert I got and it was isolated to western Howard County and extended west/south. But NOT our entire area. I am sorry if you were led astray.

Today Will Thaw:

This is a set up that will require patience and time. The air is above freezing, but now we need the help of daylight to help warm the roads. A 2 hour delay will be sufficient to do that. Afternoon temps will reach the mid 40s to lower 50s… But more rain is on the way, and more ice and snow this weekend.

We will warm into the 60s by Thursday… Then another storm will develop with snow and ice Saturday into Sunday. Here is a quick look at that. I will have more time to explore this for you in my next post.
