December 24 – Rain moved in overnight and has been heavy in spots this morning. This will remain a morning thing, and allow you the chance to get out and finish your last minute shopping. The double holiday this year may add to the store traffic, but the weather will cooperate. Rain should be done around Baltimore by noon, and off the Eastern Shore a few hours later. We should get some clearing in the sky allowing for a view of sunset (in Baltimore at 4:47 PM) to start Hanukkah and a mild night for anyone heading to midnight mass.
Here’s a quick look at the rain timeline, then perhaps some snow at the end of the week. There is not a lot of cold air to be found yet, but we have plenty of time snow lovers. Remember, last year we were close to 70°F on Christmas and hit that mark 5 times in December. January will turn colder for us.

Outlook Next Week
Cold Front on Tuesday morning, will actually fall apart with only some light rain showers. But some slightly cooler air to follow.
Snow Showers?
Friday will be our best chance for the flakes as an upper level disturbance will work with cold air from the Great Lakes to send a chance of snow down from the north.
New Year’s Day Storm
This looks to be another warm track event for us. But if the timing works out, arrival shortly after midnight, could come with a start of snow and sleet. We need to see how much cold air gets established with the previous event. FITF
