Frosty Morning And November Showing Its Colors

screen-shot2016-11-07-06_01_46Monday November 7 – There is a Frost Advisory this morning that includes Cecil, Kent, Anne Arundel, and PG counties in Maryland. But that is because these areas still have susceptible plants. The growing season west and north has ended, but frost is widespread there as well… At least the time change brings more daylight to scrape your windshield.

*Note: Teachers on the Eastern Shore- This is the last week we will be collecting group orders (for delivery) for Faith in the Fog shirts. See the link at the bottom of this post. This week will be time to start you FITF.  I will present my winter outlook and open up the winter store in a few days 🙂

The rest of today will warm up in the sun.

High Pressure is in control, and the winds will shift. Today is the last day of the year we have an average temps of 60F in Baltimore, and we might not get that mild, but Election Day will jump back into the 60s.  It will be a cold font on Wednesday morningscreen-shot2016-11-07-05_55_13 that begins to signal the change and adjust a colder weather pattern.  Not much rain is expected, but we will start to see much colder air arrive.

The Jet Stream will adjust this weekend with our first real shot of colder air… and temps could struggle to get out of the 40s for many on Saturday… with the first widespread ‘freeze’ in the early morning.

Temperature Outlook

Here is a quick look at the raw GFS text output for BWI. I’ve highlighted just the low and high temp forecast. Notice the bump on Election Day then the drop over the weekend.
