Sunday August 21 – Rain has already developed this morning well ahead of the cold front. You may have noticed the increasing wind along with some showers, if not then dark clouds racing across the sky. This was one of the two scenarios I posted this morning. Considering the importance of this Sunday afternoon weather for the Orioles game and backyard crab feasts, I wanted to give you this updated radar simulation. Keep in mind that we only have a marginal risk for any stem to turn severe. But any of the developing cells can produce heavy downpours and dangerous lightning.
Note: Showers are building earlier, but the same general time line persists. There will be stronger storms mid afternoon, then later into the evening on the Delmarva towards the beaches. A second cell will try to form in northern Maryland/southern Pennsylvania with the actual cold front into the evening. Here’s a look
