Friday July 29 – Did the heavy rain wake you up overnight? The band of storms dumped a few inches of rain in spots, and that is on top of some heavy downpours Thursday afternoon. The activity has been scattered across our area, but seems to have been exceptional by the beaches. We should get a break today, but more storms over the weekend as we break down this heat wave. Here is a look at the rain that fell in a few locations and the timeline for this weekend.
The weather report for Baltimore’s BWI up through midnight included 0.65″ of rain bringing the total for the month 3.87″, just above average. Depending on where you were located, some places saw the monthly total just in one day. There was flooding in the afternoon and more overnight. The Tornado Warning on the Eastern Shore only produced an impressive funnel cloud that came from a landfalling waterspout as shown here. Check the rain reports out…
Over 3 Inches in Perry Hall- Baltimore County
Over 6 inches just outside of Salisbury. Between 1 and 3 inches along the beaches
Just north of York PA over 4 inches fell
