Heat Steps Down End Of Week Storm Steps Up

Screen Shot2016-07-26 05_35_04Tuesday July 26- What goes up, must come down! After reaching the record high temperature on Monday, we should be past peak for this heat wave. Temperatures should hit in the 90s again for a few more days. Today will be in the upper 90s (96°F to 99°F),  but each day step down a few degrees as the core of the heat breaks down for our region. The boundary of storm formation should be south of Baltimore today, but the risk of severe storms will be marginal in southern Maryland. A more organized area of Low Pressure will pass through Thursday night and it could carry a band of heavy rain or severe storms. Anything at this point would be beneficial even if you had some of the scattered storms The ground can dry out quickly in mid summer.

Here is a brief look at the next few days to track the rain.

The weekend outlook does show a higher chance of rain, but we need to break down the heat dome first before I can show any sustained rain threat with confidence that far ahead.
