Saturday July 23 – All the talk of the dangerous heat wave but there was not mention of the thunderstorms in my morning report. I mean, we did reach 90°F at 10 AM. Part of my lack of expanded focus was due to the fact that summer thunderstorms are par for the course. Another part was because the radar simulations yesterday didn’t play out well. But with some hesitation, I want to show you the outlook for this afternoon, because there is a weakness in the atmosphere with a focus of the from from the northwest aloft. The excessive heat can often contrast with the cooler Bay and develop a Bay Breeze from the east. That is the wind direction we need to enhance the rain chance in metro areas.
