July 13 – We had the expected rain fall overnight and early this morning. Now the atmosphere is primed for more showers and storms, but it looks like the bulk of the energy will be on Delmarva. Still, a few popcorn type storms will show up spread out on the radar this afternoon. The simulated radar below is just a taste of how they will develop. This is not precise, but shows the action east of the Bay and north of Baltimore. Please note that even though not severe any storm can produce dangerous lightning. The main point is plan for showers and increased mugginess. Temps will climb to the 90s and heat index values will push close to 100°F.
Here’s a quick look for today. The one good bit of news is that this weekend is looking a little better. We still could get some afternoon showers, but for now I would not change your plans. More on that this evening.
