Updated Radar Simulation July 8

July 8 at 12 PM – The slight risk of severe storms today has some heightened attention. The line of storms has already begun to form this morning and will continue to press on to the east. The latest radar simulation picks up at 1 PM and shows a strong line just west of Baltimore, Washington, and York. This update shows the line weakening a little near the Chesapeake and breaks up the southern end to perhaps miss the beaches this evening. We can thank the west to northwest wind currently flowing across the region. That does not support storm intensity when moving east from the mountains. The north side will not be done as a second round of scattered showers will develop late afternoon and into the evening.

Please take this as a gauge but not guarantee. This is a projection based on the later radar and forecast modeling. There could still be some adjustment of location within 50 miles and timing off by up to an hour. The general idea is the main line arriving in the early part of the afternoon.
