Friday June 3 – There were showers overnight and the morning starts off quite muggy. Thick fog on the Eastern Shore has forced some school delays, but it’s graduations today that will be the concern of many. If your plans are outside this morning, wet ground is the main issues, and perhaps a light shower north. This afternoon will bring a round of thunderstorms as seen in the radar simulation below. This weekend however will bring the increased risk of severe storms. The NOAA outlook for ‘enhanced risk’ of severe storms on Sunday two days away is definitely cause for concern… and I think we can add local flooding in the mix that day as well. Basically make your plans indoors that day.

Saturday: Most storms in the mountains, but clouds may still dominate the sky
Sunday: Best risk for storms that may turn severe. Also the potential for multiple heavy rain events that can lead to flooding.

Temperatures
We will have the coolest air settle in on Wednesday. This latest outlook shows the cool down a little slower to arrive and faster to depart. I will have to be cautious to accept this, but still expect cooler weather on the way.
