Thursday May 10 – Today we should finally get a break. The start is still soggy with fog and drizzle, but a shift in the wind should allow the sun the break out and temps to get close to 70°F. But that depends on the timing of a line of storms approaching from the mountains during the afternoon. The next few days should be in the 70s, but a chance of rain will arrive Friday afternoon and then strong storms on Saturday afternoon. What follows may shock you: Sunday will be windy and chilly with potential snow in western Maryland! The coldest air on Monday morning could still bring frost inland from the Bay, so I would hold off on planting another week. Here are the maps:
Today:
Friday:
Rain by lunchtime into the afternoon. But should be gone by the evening.
Saturday:
Strong thunderstorms in the afternoon could impact your outdoor plans
Sunday:
Windy and colder. If Baltimore stays in the 50s, it will be the 7th time this month, matching May 1882 for the most chilly days on record for May. The strong winds will help Lake Effect Snow reach western Maryland. Snow is most likely above 2,000 Ft… and some scattered showers might reach central Maryland in the afternoon.
Temperature Outlook
After the winds of the chilly Sunday, Monday morning could bring frost to places inland away from the Bay
