Saturday May 7 – Most of last full week has been stuck in the 50s with rain, but that is about to change. The stalled Low over Delmarva this morning will move away, but the atmosphere is still unsettled. So showers will form this afternoon, then we wait for the shift in the wind direction to help the weather dry out for Mothers Day. If you are in Westminster for the Flower and Jazz Festival, maybe we can chat about this (after 2PM at Bowman’s booth/Faith in the Flowers). See the maps and notes below.

Changing Wind Direction
It is all about the direction of the wind for us. The easterly flow from the Atlantic is the reason it has been so cool and damp. That will change as this Low moves away and a cold front moves in Mother’s Day morning. Sunday morning will be gusty with winds 20 to 35 mph, but it will shake the clouds and we will see some sun return as temperatures approach 70°F.
