Watch Storm Stall Over Maryland: Rain Timeline

Watch Storm Stall Over Maryland: Rain Timeline

Screen Shot2016-05-06 13_44_42Friday May 6 – The coastal storm we are dealing with today continues to move to the west off of the ocean and is expected to stall over the northern Chesapeake Bay. While this might sound depressing or scary, it may be a good thing. The rain we are seeing is being pushed inland, but once the center of the storm is inland, it will spin itself out. First take a look at this radar simulation showing how the rain will rotate around the Low and Baltimore. The steady rain will taper to showers and there is hope to get the Orioles game in. Albeit chilly and damp. The real improvement will come on Mothers Day.

Notes:

  • Most of the rain will rotate ‘around’ the center of Low Pressure
  • Showers will linger this evening and overnight
  • Showers are possible around the Low on Saturday, but as it pulls away… a dry westerly wind should develop and limit that.
  • Mother’s Day: Showers in the morning, but turning windy as we dry out and see the sun by after noon.
