Soggy Saturday Then Soaking Sunday

Soggy Saturday Then Soaking Sunday

Saturday April 30 – Cool and damp is something we have gotten use to, but when will the real rain hit and could it impact your plans? At one point this was on target to become one of the driest April’s on record in Baltimore and much of the eastern US. That changed this past week when a much cooler east wind off the ocean helped to feed in moisture and keep the temperatures down. In fact BWI has not been above 55°F for three full days. Don’t expect much of a change today.  Tomorrow, a different story.

May will start with a concentrated Low Pressure system crossing our region and bringing some steady rain. This has not been easy to time out, but now this slow mover appears to arrive tonight and we should wake up with moderate to heavy rain tomorrow. The heaviest will be mid day, then a break with another round that might contain strong storms Sunday night. Here is a quick view at the timeline. We still may receive upwards of 2 more inches of rain before this is done.

Here is a quick look at the temperature outlook. I will have more later today.
