Wednesday April 27 – We need rain as we are currently in the 4th driest April on record in Baltimore. Every little bit helps, and that is what it looks like today. A little bit, but still something. The cold front that was slow to arrive yesterday and diminished our storm chances, has passed south, but it stalled. The cooler northeast winds are already prevalent as temperatures will stay in the 60s, as opposed to the high of 86°F we had yesterday.
Here is the latest radar simulation showing the return of showers during the afternoon. Below you will can see the temperature outlook keeps us a little cooler, but still close to average. The next chance of rain will be Thursday, but the weekend is still on the fence. The same issue about where the front ends up can make or break the rain threat on Sunday. I will have more on that later today.
