Omega Block Keeps Us Dry And Warms Us Up

Thursday April 14 – We are just at the beginning of a dry weather pattern that will be with us for more than a week. In fact the chance of rain I mentioned yesterday does not look likely now, however it will provide a brief cool down for two day next week. But overall it’s all about the Omega Block. This is the jet streaming the shape of the Greek letter Omega Ω . We are in the middle of the ridge underneath, which will result in a gradual warming trend with the absence of active weather around Baltimore, Maryland, and the Mid Atlantic. The temperature trend below may be underestimating the warm up, as we could reach 80°F next week.

There is one downside: The lack of strong winds or rain will allow pollen and pollution to build up. So the brief cool down will be welcome to mix the air.
