February 25 6:40 AM Update- The storm is gone, but a band of moderate rain redeveloped this morning. That is a sign of how unstable the air is and will remain. While the cooler air will be pushing in to keep our temperatures in the 40s, there will be more impulses of energy aloft. The bulk of this will produce snow from the Great Lakes into the mountains, but a few more showers will still try to pass into the evening. Some could mix with snow later in the day in the western and northern hills.

Snowfall:
There could b some snowflakes mixed in late in the day north and west of Baltimore. But the mountains will get fresh accumulation. Wisp can expect 2 to 4 inches. Same with Canaan and Timberline. But the high peak of Snowshoe could very well reach 6 inches or more of fresh snow.
The outlook actually remains mild into the weekend, and into next week. The storm track remains to our north, keeping the cold air blocked for another week. However, winter is not done. Winter Weather Folklore has a saying, “If in winter there is thunder, snow will fall in a week or under”. See the two systems next week. There would need to be developing block to shift the track, opposite of the north trend to make that reality. Note that Tuesday is March 1, and it will come in like a lamb. I see a colder pattern developing before the middle of the month.
