December 30 2015 – Rain is trying to build in from the south, and most of it will pass south and east of Baltimore. But some light rain was reported as drizzle at BWI in the 3 PM report, making this the 10th day in a row with measurable precipitation. That is not a record, nor is the total for the month. Heck, we’ve had enough records just with heat this month (5 tied or new record high temperatures). Also, this in central and eastern Missouri dealing with record flooding are the folks with all the right to complain. But it does prove that we have been in a wet pattern as the atmosphere tried to break the El Nino lock.

Rain Notes For BWI:

  • This month to date: 5.81″
  • Average to date: 3.19″
  • Wettest December: 8.09″ in 2009 *(But much of that was snow)

Fog and some drizzle has been dominant today. If you are traveling, the rain should be light. But below is a quick look at the progression of the rain through this evening. You can also see the interactive radar on my home page along with a look at the most recent stories.

Rain Timeline

This is not perfect, but a gauge at how close the measurable rain will get to Baltimore’s  BWI. I want to point out that there will be some light rain and drizzle outside of the area shown here. So if you are traveling, consider wet roads, and even reduced visibility with fog… But we’ve done that drill way too much this past week.
