We have a quick moving pattern, so this clear sky and cooler air today will not last long. A rain event will race in here on Thursday, then pull the coldest air of the year in for the weekend. But the atmosphere is volatile and the El Nino force will develop yet another storm Christmas week and bring us another run for the 70s. But it will be stormy. Here is a quick look, and if you want to see winter in the short term, race to western Maryland for their quick visit with snow.
Check out the cold air this weekend, which will translate to the 30s inland from the city… but then another push for the 70s by Christmas Eve. Note the record highs in Baltimore:
Dec 24th = 65F in 1990
Dec 25th 72 in 1964
Christmas Eve Outlook:
I don’t like to show surface weather more than a week away since specific details are likely to change. But I wanted to show this since we remain on the warm side of the storm track. This Christmas Eve could bring a record high temperature but it may also be quite stormy.
