Another record high temperature was set in Baltimore at BWI on Sunday December 13. This makes it two in a row, and fits is now the 8th pair of such records for this month on record. The high temperature was measured at 72°F at 2:32 PM. This 26 degrees above average! This is also impressive because it beat the old mark of 69°F set 126 years ago in 1889. While the temperature cranked up another degree from the day prior, it fell on a weekend making for a split of opinion for this out of sequence weather. See the poll I conducted at the bottom of this post. There is no doubt that this El Nino pattern has led to one of the warmest starts to December on record for Baltimore.

Average (Normal) High Temperature
December 13 = 46°F
May 8-10= 72°F
Oct 1-2 = 72°F
The entire month so far has been above average with afternoon temperatures.
December 12-13 now the 8th pair of record high dates in a row on record for Baltimore. Note the 11-12 and 12-13 overlap since Saturday’s record was tied with 1979.
Do you Love It Or Hate It?
I ran a poll this weekend on Twitter. With 335 respondents, there was a slight majority who hate it and would prefer it cold like it should be.
Cooling back closer to average…
With rain on the way with a cold front on Monday, temperatures will gradually slide back to reality. We should be in the 60s on Monday, well above average. But much colder by the end of the week. I will have more on the forecast in my next update.
