A Dense Fog Advisory has been posted for much of central Maryland west of the Chesapeake Bay this morning until 10 AM. This reaches as far west as Hagerstown and Cumberland. The low visibility under 1/4 mile extends north into southern PA as well, including York, Lancaster, and Gettysburg.
But we are about to turn the corner and the winds will mix the atmosphere as we watch a storm developing to the west. That will take the morning fog out the the equation. It will be that storm that will pump up the heat this weekend to near record territory. The storm track remains well to our west in this El Nino pattern, but I stand by my notion that extremes build extremes. Should we get the record high on Sunday of 69°F or higher, we should notice a reverse of source to the cold side within a week. The long range outlook does show signs of colder weather around the 20th.
The storm development shows the complex over the weekend starting in eastern Texas, then spreading across the Mississippi River Valley, where severe storms may break out Sunday. We will get the warm surge on Sunday, then the rain with some leftover storms on Monday.

If you have been tracking this model along with me, you will notice the highest number has increased another notch. Keep watching as warm ups tend to be warmer than first suggested, and last a day longer.

Holiday Spirit Giveback: Faith in the Flakes Christmas Shirts
My boys and I are rocking our shirts from last year and believe we will see snow this month. It might be hard to imagine with this stretch of rain. We want to spread the joy in a new way. Among the new styles, we have holiday or Christmas colors, and waiting for ours to be printed. We thought it would be great if families would wear these together to open gifts under their trees. In appreciation for your support, we will be using 20% of the proceeds of these holiday shirts to purchase winter coats for kids and donating them before Christmas.
