SnowRadarOct17
October 17th- A chilly Saturday that really has the taste of late autumn with it. Temperatures were halted with the arrival of clouds late morning, and barely reaching the 50s in metro Baltimore. Farther west in the high country of Garrett County in western  Maryland, temperatures stayed in the 30s an the clouds produced the first snow and sleet of the season. Angela Marie sent me a message saying it was snowing in Garrett County, and I saw it on radar (this interactive radar is on my home page, but only for desktop systems at this time). It was nice to see this confirmation of the report I posted a few days ago suggesting that some of the Lake Effect snow could reach western Maryland.

Check out the video, but make sure you listen. the flakes and sleet pellets can definitely be heard pelting the pile of leaves and the rest of the ground. Also note, please make sure you turn your phone sideways when you take video. The landscape view shows up much better on all device 🙂

Stickage?

Bon Maisano followed up with a few study flakes trying to lay and stay on his deck. More pronounced snow in Ohio and New York are likely to produce a few spots.

But this was the scene showing it falling, and her daughter was tasting a few. They say it has been coming down off/on all day. Lucky them, huh? Faith-in-the-Flakes
