Screen Shot2015-10-01 06_18_15Good morning and new info watching Major Hurricane Joaquin. The storm is stronger with 120 mph winds, but the track from the National Hurricane Center adjusted a little. More on that below. But we still have active weather not connected to the hurricane that will bring in the coolest air in months and more rain.

Note that Joaquin is crawling through the Bahamas and will be as serious as possibly there lingering for a few days. But rain that hangs along the east coast today will spread back north Friday. In anticipation, the Orioles last game with the Blue Jays has been moved up to 12:05 PM this afternoon. So plan for damp and chilly Friday and Saturday, then the hurricane possibly at the end of the weekend and early next week. Update on Joaquin below with a full hurricane report on the way mid morning.

Rain and Drizzle Today

This slider may not show the drizzle, but the steady rain on the east side, will make a return a the end of the day.

Hurricane Joaquin

Screen Shot2015-10-01 06_16_15The National Hurricane Center did shift the forecast track a little to the east. This is based on the slower movement of Joaquin in the Bahamas that would be later to catch up to our local weather system (US trough), thus allowing the front to guide the storm along the coast.  This is still a destructive path, but the focus would be back to NY and New England. Note that the cone of error still includes Maryland and I expect a few more adjustments to the track So do NOT focus on the center line, but the entire range as slight changes in forward speed can redirect the final track.
