As of Wednesday morning, Tropical Storm Erika is looks compact and only has sustained winds of 40 mph, the minimum storm strength as it is running into sheer. Tropical Storm Warnings have been posted from the National Hurricane Center for the northeastern Caribbean islands and slow strengthening expected as the environment looks more favorable over the next few days. Plotting the forecast track for the next 5 days, there is a margin of error based on various computer models and consideration for other weather patterns that could play out differently. With all of that considered, the center does cross the Bahamas towards Miami by Sunday night, but the range extends 240 miles. The intensity does range from Category 1 or higher by most computer models.
