I need to start by reminding you that I know I chose to do this trek. I decided to put myself through the regimen of 42 miles today with my team for the purpose of pushing the limits of physical and mental stress while remaining in good spirits. That is what I did in my first Trek Across Maryland for Cool Kids Campaign last year. I will keep doing this as a symbol to kids fighting cancer that we understand their pain and don’t want them to have it. Being sick as a kid was NOT their choice. This first day was for Juliana Carver

5 lbs lost even though I drank over 4 liters of fluids.
Suunto Ambit 3R- This watch is amazing and I want to thank them for sponsoring my trek! Check out what this can do…
53% The battery left on my Suunto Ambit 3R watch after over 9 hours of excursive, hear rate monitoring, and GFS tracking (every 10 seconds). I am so impressed with this watch. I only wish it did live tracking, but it does connect to Strava for post workout tracking.
41.93 miles from the summit of Wisp to Cumberland over some very rugged terrain. You can track us LIVE on my new page dedicated to this event.
All of the data can is listed below the video. There is so much I’d love to tell you about the watch, but after all these miles this is the best I could put together. Let’s start with the 3D animation of the route along with photos taken along the way automatically put in place. I edited to add more photos and some music.

54,911 steps taken during first 27 mile trek. Charm City Run or Cool Kids Campaign will announce the winner of our contest on Monday. These were measured by my device, and UP band. This is accurate, but the mileage and calories burned are a little overdone.
61,993 steps all day including the bike ride.
The entire day was an experience including meeting Juliana’s nurse by accident. She didn’t know we were in Garrett County, but her friend did who came out to visit me last year. Then she saw Julian’s picture and we made the connection. I can’t wait to see what happens over the next 6 days.
